Manchester United's Radek Vitek is hopeful of moving elsewhere to become a number one goalkeeper next season.

Vitek, who joined United as a 16-year-old in 2020, has had numerous loan spells away from Old Trafford, the most notable of which saw him spend 2025-26 at Bristol City.

As the Robins finished 12th in the Championship, Vitek made 41 league appearances and kept 12 clean sheets.

Only four goalkeepers recorded more shutouts in the division – Carl Rushworth (17), Christian Walton (16), Ivor Pandur and Sol Brynn (both 14).

Vitek's 134 saves were the fourth-most in the Championship, while his save percentage of 70.97% was also the fourth-best of any goalkeeper to play more than 25 games. 

But, with Senne Lammens, Altay Bayindir, Karl Darlow and Tom Heaton now ahead of him in the pecking order, Vitek feels he must seek regular minutes elsewhere, even if that means departing on a permanent basis.

"I feel great and ready to go somewhere again to be, hopefully, as number one, so we will see. We will see what is going to happen," Vitek said, as quoted by The Athletic.

"At the moment, I am still here, but we will see. I hope there will be some interest. I think you will know when things are more concrete."

Asked if he would prefer a permanent or temporary move, he added: "I am ready for both, to be fair. It depends what the club wants and depends on the options. We will see.

"There has been some interest on the table. But we hope to get the best one, and hopefully it will happen soon."

Excluding penalties and own goals, Vitek only conceded 50 goals from 58.7 expected goals on target (xGoT) faced last season, meaning he prevented 8.7 goals.

Vitek played 45 minutes as United were beaten 1-0 by Wrexham in their first pre-season friendly of the summer on Saturday, with a trip to Rosenborg to come next Friday.
