At the 2010 South Africa FIFA World Cup, 59-year-old Spanish coach Del Bosque led his team to their first FIFA World Cup title, becoming the oldest FIFA World Cup-winning coach in history at the time.

The youngest FIFA World Cup-winning coach in history was Alberto Suppici, coach of the Uruguay team in 1930, who led his team to victory at the age of 31 that year.
