Manchester United's new away kit for the 2026/27 season was unexpectedly revealed early, and the leaker turned out to be British rapper Stormzy. According to the Daily Mirror, Stormzy showcased Manchester United's new season away kit via social media stories while watching the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, attracting attention from fans. Manchester United had previously officially released the new season's home kit, but the away kit had been kept under wraps until this accidental leak.

From the leaked images, Manchester United's new away kit features a bold blue as the main color, with red and white detailing. It is understood that this design inspiration may come from some of Manchester United's classic kits from the 1980s.

Adidas has also adopted a retro style this time, using the classic Trefoil logo instead of the usual performance logo, while the jersey surface incorporates a subtle wavy texture design.

Stormzy wrote on social media: "@Manchester United, you saw it here first." Subsequently, fans also saw clearer footage of him showcasing the jersey in the MetLife Stadium tunnel in New Jersey, via a video posted by another user.

This is not the first time Stormzy has had early access to Manchester United's internal information. Previously, as a Manchester United fan, he revealed that he was one of the first people to know about Pogba's return to Old Trafford.

Speaking about his experience of keeping the secret at the time, Stormzy said: "That was one of the biggest secrets in the world at the time, and I kept thinking about when I could release the news. It felt special to have such a crazy secret."

He also revealed that he had signed relevant agreements to keep it confidential: "Yes, there were secret locations and stuff like that. He's a very nice person."

As a Manchester United fan, Stormzy had also previously explained the reasons for his support: "Many people always ask, listening to my accent, why do I support Manchester United? But it's fate. I didn't have an older brother or father who supported Manchester United when I was a child, it was entirely my own choice. I'm just a London Red Devil."
