Official news: Stuart Lewis has left Tottenham Hotspur to join Ipswich Town as a coach.

Stuart said: "Returning to the club I played for as a child, 11 years ago as a coach, was truly a dream come true."

"I have supported Tottenham Hotspur since I was 5 years old and also played for the club in my youth. It is a great honor to be back again to help develop the next generation of players. My family and I have supported this club all our lives, so I have always understood what it means to represent Tottenham Hotspur and what identity the team should embody: brave, attacking, proactive football."

"I have made many special memories at the club and formed relationships that will last a lifetime. Winning the U17 and U18 Premier League Cups in the 2022/23 season, and then helping the U17s win again in April 2025, were outstanding achievements accomplished by everyone involved."

"While these trophies are very special, I have always known that the primary goal is to develop players who can break into the first team. I believe it won't be long before more academy players step onto our excellent pitch."

"I want to thank everyone at the club for their support and for allowing me to go to Ipswich Town to pursue my goal of coaching in the Premier League. I leave with immense pride, gratitude, and unforgettable memories, and I wish everyone associated with Tottenham Hotspur all the best for the future."

Stuart joined Tottenham Hotspur as a teenager in 2004, progressing through the academy system. After signing his first professional contract, he went on to play for teams such as Barnet, Stevenage, Gillingham, Dagenham & Redbridge, and Wycombe Wanderers, making over 200 appearances in the English Football League, FA Cup, and League Cup.

In 2015, he returned to the club as a part-time coach; after retiring from non-league football, he was appointed U16 Head Coach in 2019 and promoted to U18 Head Coach in 2021. In 2023, he led Tottenham Hotspur U17 and U18 to win both Premier League Cup titles, and again led the U17s to victory in 2025.

At the start of the 2025/26 season, Stuart was appointed First Team Pathway Coach, helping young players transition to senior football and integrate into the first-team system.

During his time as U18 and Pathway Coach, Stuart witnessed several academy players make their first-team debuts.
