Chelsea expert Bobby Vincent told the Manchester Evening News that Santos has the potential to surpass his two former Chelsea teammates.

"Santos has the potential to grow into a better player than Caicedo and Enzo in the future, but it was more reasonable for those two players to get more playing time last season. This transfer fee has caused division among Chelsea fans," Vincent said.

"Some fans think he is a talented rising star with a high ceiling, while others think he struggled last season and that the club selling him was the right choice. I lean towards the former view.

"I think Santos can become a top midfielder in the future. The £50 million price tag seems high, but compared to the transfer market for players in the same position this summer, is this price really exaggerated?"
