Argentine President Milei thanked Messi for the "immense joy" he brought to Argentina and praised Scaloni as an "outstanding leader."

Scaloni expressed doubts about his future after Argentina's 1-0 loss to Spain in the FIFA World Cup final. In an interview with Radio Mitre, Milei said of Messi: "Anyone who has been at the highest professional level for over 20 years deserves admiration. Not only that, but he has also brought immense joy to all Argentines and everyone who appreciates great football."

The President also praised Argentina's coach, Scaloni, calling him an "extraordinary person" and an "outstanding leader." When asked about Scaloni's future with the national team, Milei expressed hope that the coach would "follow his heart's choice and achieve the happiness and success he desires in life."

Milei's remarks come after Scaloni hinted that he might resign as Argentina's coach. Scaloni stated he needed "time to make a decision" and planned to meet with Claudio Tapia, president of the Argentine Football Association.

Milei also praised Argentina's overall performance in this FIFA World Cup and called on fans to acknowledge the team's achievements despite losing the final. "No one can blame them for anything, because they gave their all. The result of the final cannot overshadow or diminish the immense achievements of this team," he said.

The President added: "I am infinitely grateful for everything they have done, and for the way they defended the values of the Argentine people, proving that Argentines never give up until the last second. Argentina never surrenders."

In Sunday's final, Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 with an extra-time goal from Ferran Torres, securing their second FIFA World Cup title in national team history, having previously won in the 2010 South Africa FIFA World Cup. Argentina, unfortunately, failed to lift the FIFA World Cup for a fourth time.
