Does it hurt? Of course it hurts; it hurts a lot. The feelings in the hearts of all Argentinians cannot be put into words, but we have long been accustomed to fighting through pain, and this is what makes us different — this is why they look at us and envy us.

We are proud of each and every one of you, and we will always be grateful for your support. As a nation, we must hold our heads high. I feel that we have put Argentina at the top of the world. Heartfelt thanks to the 47 million Argentinians, and I am happy for the great FIFA World Cup we played.
