There are currently reports that Juventus, Internazionale, and Manchester United are all interested in Lukumi, and Bologna CEO Claudio Fenucci has admitted that after his failed transfer to Sunderland last summer, "we promised Lukumi he could leave."

The defender's contract previously included a €28 million release clause, but that clause has now expired, so interested clubs must negotiate directly with Bologna.

Lukumi almost transferred to Sunderland last summer, and now there are reports that Bologna is in talks with Juventus, Internazionale, and Manchester United regarding the matter.

"Lukumi can leave because that's what we promised him last year," Fenucci admitted in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.

"We asked him to stay for another year then, and promised that if a suitable offer came in next summer, he could leave."

That being said, Bologna has not specified what they consider a "suitable offer," which leaves some room for interpretation in fulfilling this promise.

"We'll see if a suitable offer comes in; if so, we'll grant his wish, otherwise he'll stay with the team."

The situation is further complicated by the fact that Lukumi's contract expires at the end of this season, and there has been no progress in renewal discussions between the two parties.
