AFC Bournemouth are determined to keep midfielder Alex Scott this summer, despite his refusal to sign a new contract with the club. However, his reluctance to extend his deal has attracted the attention of Manchester United and Arsenal, both of whom have expressed interest in signing the 22-year-old this summer. Chelsea are also rumored to be interested in Scott, who made 37 Premier League appearances for AFC Bournemouth last season. The Telegraph suggests that his transfer fee would also likely be close to £100 million.

AFC Bournemouth first offered Scott a new contract this spring, with negotiations beginning in March, but the club has so far been unable to persuade him to sign an extension.
According to The Telegraph, as the team transitions from the Andoni Iraola era, who coached Liverpool, to the new coach Marco Rose, re-signing Scott and keeping him at Vitality Stadium is one of AFC Bournemouth's top priorities.

Whether Scott agrees to a new contract or not, AFC Bournemouth has no intention of letting him leave this year. His current contract runs until 2028, and the club has not set a transfer fee for him because they are not considering selling the player at all.
Scott is a versatile player with excellent technical ability, and his outstanding performance under Iraola has made him one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League. He was also included in the England squad's pre-World Cup training camp as one of five additional players.
Guernsey-born Scott joined AFC Bournemouth in the summer of 2023 from Bristol City for approximately £25 million, and has since made 80 Premier League appearances, scoring 4 goals.
In a crazy transfer market, Scott's value could reach £100 million.
In today's transfer market, what is Scott's value? AFC Bournemouth cannot answer this question because they are not considering selling him and have not put a price tag on him.
However, the entire football world, especially key decision-makers at Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea, will undoubtedly try to estimate the player's potential value. Teams interested in Scott must assess whether there is an offer that could change AFC Bournemouth's stance.
Looking at other transfer deals completed this summer, one obvious conclusion is that Scott's value could be close to £100 million. If this number sounds outrageous, that is precisely the reality of the 2026 transfer market.

Elliot Anderson, one year older than Scott, transferred for £116 million after two consecutive seasons of regular Premier League play for Nottingham Forest; last season, Nottingham Forest finished 10 places lower than AFC Bournemouth.
Sandro Tonali has made fewer Premier League appearances than Scott, and last season he finished 12th in the league with Newcastle United, yet Tottenham Hotspur paid up to £100 million for his transfer.
Matheus Fernandes, who was relegated with Southampton and West Ham United, also cost Tottenham a total of £85 million.
Morgan Rogers is expected to join Chelsea from Aston Villa for £117 million.
The three most expensive transfer deals completed this summer were all for midfielders. In this context, if AFC Bournemouth changes its mind and agrees to sell Scott this summer, it would undoubtedly be reasonable for them to demand a transfer fee of close to £100 million.
