Al Hilal officially announced that captain Salem Al-Dawsari underwent successful surgery for a knee tendon injury.

Al-Dawsari was examined by Dr. Lasse Lempainen in Finland on Monday to diagnose the injury and assess whether he needed surgery.

Al Hilal posted on its official social media account on Tuesday: "Salem Al-Dawsari has successfully undergone surgery for his knee tendon injury."

The club added: "The surgery was performed this morning in Finland by specialist Dr. Lempainen, and it has since been decided that Salem will begin his treatment and rehabilitation program at a specialized medical center under the supervision of the medical team."

Al Hilal had stated on the 10th of this month that "The Tornado" would require 6 to 8 weeks of treatment and rehabilitation, but undergoing surgery now may further extend his absence.
