According to Egyptian media Le Caire 24, Egyptian national goalkeeper and Al Ahly Cairo goalkeeper, Shoubir, attracted the attention of Atletico Madrid coach Simeone due to his outstanding performance in the World Cup.

Le Caire 24 reported that Simeone was impressed by Shoubir's performance during the World Cup and specifically inquired about the young goalkeeper and his career.

The same source stated that Simeone also asked about Shoubir's career achievements, the clubs he had played for, and his current team, because he greatly appreciated the goalkeeper's performance in the World Cup matches.

Simeone was in the stands at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, USA, watching the round of 16 match between Egypt and Argentina. Shoubir's performance in that match was eye-catching; he not only saved a penalty taken by Messi but also defused several dangerous situations. Although Egypt ultimately lost 2-3 to Argentina, the goalkeeper still received widespread praise after the match.
