According to Ochoa’s social media announcement, the 41-year-old Mexican goalkeeper has decided to bring an end to his 22-year professional football career.

I take with me the affection of millions and the peace of mind of having given my all for Mexico.

Over the course of his career, Ochoa has played for Club América, Ajaccio, Málaga, Granada, Standard Liège, Salernitana, and other clubs. At the national team level, he has represented Mexico in six World Cups, made numerous crucial saves, served for many years as the national team’s first-choice goalkeeper, and won titles including the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
