Inter Miami officially announced that the team has signed Brazilian international midfielder Casemiro. The five-time Champions League winning midfielder joins the team as a free agent, with a contract lasting until the end of the 2027 MLS Sprint season, and an option to extend until June 2029.

Currently, Casemiro's registration is pending P-1 visa approval, and he will officially play for Inter Miami once the procedures are completed.

Casemiro stated: "What motivates me the most, and I think this applies to every player, is to win and to keep growing. The project the club showed me, and the effort everyone put in to make this move happen, means a lot to me."

"I am very grateful to everyone and can't wait to start this new journey. I hope to repay the trust the club has placed in me, not just during the 90 minutes of a game, but also in every training session. I will give my all to repay the support and confidence the team has shown me."

Casemiro is one of the most successful defensive midfielders of his generation. Before joining Inter Miami, he played for Premier League club Manchester United for three seasons, where he continued to collect honors.

Before joining Manchester United, Casemiro played for Real Madrid for eight years, becoming a key figure in the team's golden era. During his time at Real Madrid, he won 5 Champions League titles, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 3 FIFA Club World Cups, 3 La Liga titles, 1 Copa del Rey, and 3 Spanish Super Cups.

During his time with the Real Madrid first team, Casemiro made 336 appearances, scoring 31 goals and providing 29 assists, helping the team win 18 major trophies.

In 2022, Casemiro joined Manchester United. In his three seasons with the Red Devils, he made 160 appearances, scoring 26 goals and providing 14 assists, helping the team win the EFL Cup and the FA Cup.

At the national team level, Casemiro has been a core member of the Brazilian team for a long time, having made 91 appearances for Brazil to date. He helped the team win the 2019 Copa América and participated in the 2018, 2022, and 2026 World Cups.

During the 2026 World Cup, Casemiro played and started all 5 matches for Brazil, scoring one goal in the Round of 32 and providing one assist in the Round of 16.

Inter Miami stated that Casemiro's rich championship experience, leadership, and top-level competition experience will further enhance the team's competitiveness and help the club continue to move towards higher goals.

Transaction details: Inter Miami has signed Brazilian midfielder Casemiro as a free agent, with a contract until the end of the 2027 MLS Sprint season, and an option to extend until June 2029. In addition, Inter Miami acquired Casemiro's discovery rights from LA Galaxy.

Note: MLS is reforming its calendar: The old system was from February to November (spring to autumn, staggered with the mainstream European cross-year season).

Starting July 2027, a new permanent schedule will be implemented: Season starts in July → concludes in May of the following year (aligning with European cross-year seasons).

After the old season ends in late 2026, there will be a half-year gap. Therefore, the league will insert the 2027 Sprint Season to fill this gap and determine continental competition slots.
