According to the latest report from The Athletic, Chelsea has reached an agreement with Dallas to sign 15-year-old American youth international Benjamin Flowers from the club when he turns 18, while Dallas has also signed a first-team contract with the winger.

Dallas will reportedly receive a fixed transfer fee of approximately $3 million (equivalent to £2.25 million), plus add-on clauses, bringing the total value of the deal to as much as $10 million. The add-on clauses are divided into multiple triggers: a portion can be realized before the player transfers to Chelsea, based on his appearances for Dallas's first team and tournament milestones achieved with various US youth national teams before joining Chelsea. Additionally, Dallas retains a sell-on clause for any future transfer of the player.
Flowers reportedly traveled to London in recent weeks to complete the relevant transfer procedures with Chelsea. Chelsea believes they have signed one of the most promising young talents in American youth football. He made his debut for Dallas's second team in the MLS Next Pro league in March of this year at just 14 years old. He has currently played two matches for the second team and is expected to get more playing opportunities as the season progresses. He has also been called up to the US U15 national team.
One of the add-on triggers is for the player to complete a specified amount of playing time before the end of the 2026 season, thereby incentivizing Dallas to give the young player more first-team competitive opportunities. The Flowers deal is expected to set a historical record, with the total amount, including add-on clauses, significantly exceeding the previous highest transfer fee of $5 million received by Philadelphia Union for Cavan Sullivan – Sullivan also signed a pre-agreement to join Manchester City when he turns 18.
