On July 23, local time, Adeyemi signed a contract with Barcelona until June 2031. On his personal social media, he bid farewell to his former club Borussia Dortmund and their fans.

Adeyemi posted some highlights from his time in a Borussia Dortmund jersey and wrote: "Four unforgettable years that I will always remember. Thank you to my teammates, the club, and the fans for the passion you gave me, the shared memories we created, and your unwavering support. Yellow and black will always be in my heart."
