Bayern U23 coach Dante revealed that, after just two days of working with first-team coach Kompany, he has already learned a lot, especially about attention to detail and communication with players.

Despite having only a few hours of working time with Kompany, Dante (42) is already full of praise for the 40-year-old coach. This Monday and Tuesday, the new Bayern second-team coach, together with the Bayern double-winning coach, organized a very rare, large-scale training session at Säbener Straße involving 40 players and 20 staff members. With all World Cup international players still on vacation, only six first-team players trained alongside Dante's regional league team and the U19 squad. Despite the challenging organizational work, Dante said enthusiastically: "I learned so much from Vincent in two days – just his mindset and the way he communicates with the lads, these details have benefited me greatly. He is a great coach."

The former center-back, who has just ended his playing career in Nice, also made it clear: "I have a lot to learn, but I won't copy everything." That also applies to his two legendary former coaches – Guardiola (55) and Heynckes (81). Between 2012 and 2015, Dante won four Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokal titles, and the 2013 Champions League title with Bayern under their leadership. Dante said: "If you've encountered many good coaches, you shouldn't just use one of them as a template. I want to draw on the strengths of Guardiola, Heynckes, and Lucien Favre (Dante's former coach at Gladbach and Nice) to build my own coaching style."

What will Dante's coaching style be like? "I want the team to play with joy," the optimistic Brazilian said with a grin, before adding, "especially the young players. They should enjoy giving their all so they can be happy after the game. But this requires a lot of effort and discipline."

Regarding the team's tactical style, Dante explained: "I have complete freedom in tactical choices. But it makes sense to align our training and playing style with the first team because I want to prepare the lads for their future entry into Vincent's team." For this reason, when asked about the team's goals for the regional league season, Dante did not specify a ranking, but said: "Our primary goal is to help the players improve!"

Dante's "young talent" mission will officially begin this Friday (1:00 AM CEST on Saturday) in the first round of the regional league, when Bayern II host Eltendorf at the Grünwalder Stadion. Another match on Dante's calendar stands out: the derby against city rivals 1860 Munich! "I know exactly when that game is – October 17th. There will be more emotion and adrenaline in that game," Dante said, revealing, "fans have already approached me, saying that we absolutely must win that derby."
