According to Sport, the Spanish national team's journey to win their second star will be made into a docuseries. The Spanish Football Federation and Prime Video will release a four-part production in December, reconstructing Spain's victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup from an inside perspective.

The series will feature never-before-seen footage, intimate conversations, and testimonials from the main participants in this journey. The Spanish team concluded this journey on July 19 last year at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time, with Ferran Torres scoring in the 106th minute, becoming world champions again after 16 years.

This documentary will showcase the daily lives of the 26 players and coaching staff during their 52-day training camp. In addition to the matches, the production will delve into team interactions, jokes, tense moments, difficulties, and the decisions that helped forge a champion team.

Luis de la Fuente's role will undoubtedly be a highlight. The Spanish coach completed a cycle in the United States, leading the team to win the 2023 Nations League and the 2024 European Championship. The FIFA World Cup title also proves the success of this generation of players, including Rodri, Lamine Yamal, Ferran, Pedri, Nico Williams, and Mikel Oyarzabal.

This docuseries will also show how the Spanish team coped with the highest intensity of the new format FIFA World Cup. This tournament features 48 participating teams, with finalists playing 8 matches. Spain ultimately lifted the trophy, relying on their ability to control the game, solid defense, and competitive spirit demonstrated in the most challenging moments.

This production is a joint venture between the Spanish Football Federation and Telefónica Broadcast Services and will be available in over 200 countries and regions. This will be the seventh documentary released by the Spanish Football Federation, following "Luis, the Wise Man of Success," "Fifth Generation of the Fifth Generation," "The Power of the Group," "Ten Years of the First Star," "Everyone's FIFA World Cup," and "A Team Called Spain."

The Spanish Football Federation will continue its practice of documenting major tournaments, opening up the locker rooms and training camps to show content typically not seen in broadcasts. "A Team Called Spain," aired after the 2024 European Championship, also had 4 episodes and filmed scenes in rooms, on physiotherapy beds, and in locker rooms.

Effort, camaraderie, laughter, and tension will be the core elements of this docuseries. It aims to explain not only how Spain returned to the top of the world, but also how these 26 players ultimately became one big family.
