According to the latest report from TA journalist David Ornstein, Chelsea are interested in signing 35-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion forward Welbeck.

Welbeck has reportedly been added to Chelsea's transfer target list and is expected to join the Blues under Xabi Alonso. During his time at Brighton & Hove Albion, Welbeck played in 176 Premier League matches and scored 46 goals.

Chelsea are planning to streamline their attack by selling or loaning out surplus players, making Welbeck a target. In the 2025-26 season, Welbeck scored 13 Premier League goals for Brighton & Hove Albion. Pedro, Emega, and Delap are currently with Chelsea on their pre-season tour.
