Alexia Putellas could make her Women's Super League debut for London City Lionesses against Manchester United, after the 2026-27 fixtures were released on Thursday.

Under the ambitious ownership of Michele Kang, London City have been busy in the transfer market after finishing seventh in their first-ever WSL season in 2025-26.
Putellas became their headline signing after leaving Barcelona on a free transfer, having won 38 trophies during a 14-year spell with the Catalan giants, scoring 232 goals in 507 appearances for the club.
The Lionesses have also brought in Putellas' former Barca team-mate Mapi Leon, France forward Kadidiatou Diani and former England goalkeeper Mary Earps, who could go up against her old club on matchday one of the new campaign.
London City will host United in the 2026-27 curtain-raiser on Friday, September 4. The following day will see Chelsea host Aston Villa, with five more fixtures taking place on Sunday, September 6.
Champions Manchester City are at home to newly promoted Birmingham City, while last season's runners-up, Arsenal, visit Brighton on matchday one.
The opening weekend of the season will also see Liverpool visit Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace take on Everton, and Tottenham do battle with rivals West Ham.
