According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Internazionale management has promised Chivu that they will continue their efforts to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, but the Nerazzurri are unwilling to meet the Reds' €40 million asking price.

Internazionale is still interested in Liverpool midfielder Jones, who, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, is Chivu's preferred target in midfield.

Last night, Internazionale players and staff departed for Hong Kong, China, and Australia to begin their pre-season tour, but before their departure, Chivu met with club management to get an update on transfer progress.

Curtis Jones remains Chivu's top target in midfield, but Internazionale's previous €25 million offer was rejected by Liverpool, who are still demanding €40 million.

However, the Nerazzurri are confident that they can force the Reds to lower their asking price in the coming weeks, as the English midfielder has less than a year left on his contract and does not seem to be in Iraola's long-term plans.

Marotta and Ausilio did not travel with the team to Asia; they will remain in Italy to continue working on transfers.

La Gazzetta dello Sport points out that Internazionale must make room for Curtis Jones by selling other midfielders.

Currently, Akinsanmiro's €7.5 million permanent transfer to Monza has been finalized. Additionally, Internazionale plans to loan out Massolin and permanently sell Asllani.

Frattesi is also not in Internazionale's plans, and the Nerazzurri are awaiting offers for the Italian international.
