Brandt told Ajax club channel that he was very happy to be an Ajax player, according to Goal.com.

Brandt said that he first spoke with technical director Jordi Cruyff, who introduced him to his plans. "When I looked into his eyes and he told me what he wanted to achieve this season, I got excited." He said that he could have chosen almost any top or second-tier team in the Spanish, Italian, English, or German leagues.
The 30-year-old German midfielder also mentioned that he not only spoke with Jordi Cruyff but also with the head coach. "If a coach wants to play football that matches Ajax's character, I think it suits me very well. This is indeed part of the plan and part of the vision. So I think it's perfect for me."
Brandt recalled the Champions League match between Ajax and Dortmund in October 2021, saying that he and his former club lost 0-4 there. "That was a bad day for us, and we played really poorly."
However, Brandt did not forget the atmosphere that night. "The atmosphere was truly amazing," he said. "It has always stayed in my mind. That night, only one team played well."
Brandt has signed a contract with Ajax until 2029, and he hopes to help the team return to success in the future. "I think we are talking about a three-year cycle, which is a good sign. I hope we can have a good phase together."
"Because we can't change everything in two days, nor can we achieve success in two days; it takes time. I think this will be an exciting period, and we must transform this enthusiasm into a successful phase. I can't wait."
