Lewis was interviewed by Manchester City's official media during pre-season training in Hong Kong, where he discussed his expectations of working with Maresca.

On Maresca

"When he was with us during the treble-winning season, he would train with me individually after most sessions, and I was very grateful for that. We had a great relationship, but it wasn't for long since he was only there for one season. I'm delighted he's back."

"So far everything has gone very well. All aspects have been positive, and we have a clear idea of how we want to play. Everyone knows where they should be and what they should do, which is the most important thing. We're understanding these concepts, and the more we learn, the better the team will become."

Positional Flexibility Against Inter

"We haven't discussed my position yet, but playing both full-back and midfield against Inter gives me an idea of his thoughts. I'll talk to him, but right now I just want to play. For me, it's all about playing and helping the team."

"I felt pretty good after the match, which surprised me because I didn't expect to play the full 90 minutes. I trained hard over the summer, and I feel like that effort paid off. Hopefully, I'll maintain this fitness."
