According to Football Insider, a former Tottenham Hotspur scout said that Tottenham Hotspur needs to sell a forward first to sign Gakpo.

Gakpo, 27, is Tottenham Hotspur's top transfer target this summer, and his future at Anfield is increasingly uncertain. Although Gakpo only signed a new contract last summer, the rise of Ngumoha and the potential arrival of Barcola have reduced his importance within the team.

Tottenham Hotspur has already spent over £200 million this summer to bring in Matheus Fernandes, Tonali, and Van Hecke, but has not yet strengthened its frontline. Savinho is also one of the targets, expected to join from Manchester City this summer, with Gakpo being another option besides the Brazilian.

Social media messages indicate that Tottenham Hotspur plans to intensify its pursuit of Gakpo, with negotiations entering a critical stage. Gakpo is another target in addition to Savinho, and the deal depends on Liverpool's intentions and offer. Bryan King, speaking about Gakpo, said: "I think he would be a great signing for Tottenham Hotspur. He's a good player. He did well in the World Cup, didn't he? I think Gakpo would be the kind of player they like, and I think he's better than Richarlison or Solanke. So, if the manager wants him, the club has bought everything he wants so far, haven't they? This will be interesting. He will definitely cost a lot of money, at least £70 million, I think."

Tottenham Hotspur's summer transfer window is far from over, with multiple deals still in the pipeline. After two consecutive seasons finishing 17th in the Premier League, the club's decision-makers are fully backing De Zerbi.

When asked about the remaining transfer window, De Zerbi said: "In the transfer market, when I want a player, I'm like a shark. There's no chance to say no. The transfer market is definitely not over yet, but we have completed 60% of our plan. Now we have another bomb."
