According to the latest reports from Marca, Barcelona has no intention of competing for Rodri and has no plans to sign a midfielder this summer.

It is reported that since the summer transfer window opened, Barcelona has not planned to sign a midfielder. Both Flick and Deco believe the team currently has sufficient personnel in the three midfield positions, even to the point of being overstaffed. Therefore, they have advised Casado to seek opportunities elsewhere next season, and he is expected to leave this summer.
De Jong's injury has indeed caused some concern; however, these concerns are more prevalent among fans than within club management. Rumors have begun circulating that Barcelona might enter the transfer market to find a midfielder, and Rodri's name has surfaced because of his excellent performance at the World Cup.
However, Barcelona has no intention of participating in the bidding. Firstly, Flick already has several excellent midfielders at his disposal. Secondly, the transfer fee could be as high as around 70 million euros, and Barcelona also believes that he will ultimately join Real Madrid. Barcelona cannot sign a player at this price just to cover for De Jong's absence due to injury.
Barcelona will not invest heavily in this position because they have other more important transfer targets, especially in attack, followed by defense. As of now, Barcelona has no plans to sign any midfielders. They believe this position is well-covered and would only consider entering the transfer market if De Jong's injury worsens or other players suffer injuries.
