According to consistent reports from Bild and L'Équipe, Newcastle United has identified 25-year-old German international Nmecha as a transfer target. Borussia Dortmund sporting director Ole Bodack stated that the possibility of losing him this summer is "extremely low."

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Ole Bodack addressed Nmecha's future during Wednesday's midday training session. He expressed confidence the player would stay: "I really think this possibility is extremely low. Of course, theoretically an exorbitant offer might come, but I'm quite confident in ruling out Nmecha leaving this summer."

According to Bild, the midfielder currently has no intention of joining Newcastle imminently. Nmecha only extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2030 in March of this year. However, if a top Premier League club with genuine title prospects were to make a serious move, he would be available. His contract includes a release clause allowing top clubs to sign him for a fixed fee of around 80 million euros in 2027. For this summer, Borussia Dortmund can set their own price, but according to Bild, the asking price exceeds 120 million euros.

Newcastle United certainly has the financial capacity for Nmecha. The club could raise up to 90 million euros from a potential Bruno Guimarães sale. Newcastle has already generated significant funds from deals involving Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon and is rebuilding its squad. However, a move for Nmecha appears highly unlikely as part of those plans.

On a separate note, 19-year-old centre-back Joane Gadou left Wednesday's training early due to minor circulatory issues.
