According to Sky Germany, Newcastle United are interested in submitting an offer to Borussia Dortmund for Nmecha, but Dortmund are currently unwilling to let him go.

Newcastle United has already made initial contact with the player's representatives. Sky Germany reports that Newcastle plans to submit an offer to Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund's sporting director Ole Buhl stated: "I really think this is very, very unlikely. Of course, theoretically there could always be an astronomical offer, but I think Nmecha leaving this summer is almost out of the question."
Buhl did not completely rule it out, however. Dortmund would only be willing to open negotiations if an offer exceeded €100 to €120 million.
It is certain that Newcastle United urgently needs to strengthen its midfield after the departure of captain Bruno Guimarães. Guimarães will join Arsenal for approximately €87.5 million. Meanwhile, Anthony Gordon transferred to Barcelona for over €80 million, and Sandro Tonali also moved to Tottenham Hotspur for €108 million plus bonuses, meaning Newcastle has ample funds.
Newcastle United, who have been tracking Nmecha for a long time, admire the player and have been closely monitoring his progress. The 25-year-old midfielder's contract with Borussia Dortmund does not expire until 2030, with the Premier League considered his future destination.
Former Newcastle coach Eddie Howe has always been an admirer of the German international. It is currently unclear what new coach Matthias Jaissle thinks of Nmecha.
It is worth noting that the Dortmund midfielder had a release clause in his contract this summer, but Newcastle United has learned that this clause has now expired. As things stand, Nmecha's release option next summer is €80 million. Whether Dortmund can retain this midfield engine long-term remains questionable.
