At 7 PM CET on August 13, the UEFA Super Cup concluded. After the match, chief referee Omar Artan signed the UEFA Super Cup match ball, writing "Thank you, this is my FIFA World Cup."

Previously, well-known Somali chief referee Omar Artan had been selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup referee list for the US, Canada, and Mexico. However, upon arriving at Miami International Airport in the US on June 8, 2026, he was denied entry by the US, regrettably losing his qualification to officiate the FIFA World Cup. Subsequently, he was exceptionally invited to officiate the UEFA Super Cup in August 2026.
