Journalist Romano reported that Rodri, during a recent conversation with Fermín López, stated his wish to continue wearing the No. 16 shirt after joining Barcelona.

Fermín López is expected to switch to the No. 7 shirt, so Rodri will continue to use his iconic No. 16.

La Liga's official website had previously confirmed that Fermín will wear the Barcelona No. 7 shirt next season, a number previously held by Ferran Torres, who left this summer.
