FIFA announced on Thursday that Brazil's Maracana Stadium will host the opening match and final of the 2027 Women's World Cup.

As hosts and top seeds in Group A, Brazil's women's national team will play their opening match at the Maracana on June 24, followed by two other group stage matches at the Itaquerão Arena in São Paulo on June 29 and at the Estádio Nacional de Brasília on July 4.
The final, to be played on July 25, will also be held at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, which will also host a semi-final.
Brasília, Porto Alegre, Recife, and Salvador will host matches from the group stage to the round of 16; Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza will join Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in hosting the quarter-finals.
All eight host cities will host at least seven matches, including at least one knockout stage match.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a press release: "We can't wait to witness a new chapter in women's football history in Brazil next year, where the world's best players, coaches, fans, and local communities will take center stage.
"I'm already excited thinking about how Brazilian fans will welcome guests from all over the world with unparalleled passion, color, and vitality, and together light up these eight vibrant host cities."
FIFA stated that the match schedule is currently available on its digital platforms, and the final version will be released after the final draw later this year.
