Esposito is preparing for a new chapter after parting ways with Cagliari. According to Fabrizio Romano, the forward will join Sassuolo on loan.

Romano wrote: "Sassuolo have reached a loan agreement to sign Esposito from Cagliari. Riccardo Ciervo will move to Cagliari as part of the deal, and Esposito will replace Andrea Pinamonti, who is joining Sassuolo from Lazio."
