On August 27, Ajax officially announced that the club had reached an agreement with Girona regarding the transfer of Ukrainian winger Viktor Tsygankov. The 28-year-old winger officially joined Ajax, with both parties signing a long-term contract valid until June 30, 2029.

Born on November 15, 1997, Tsygankov came through the Dynamo Kyiv youth academy and gradually developed into an important player for the club, making over 200 appearances for Dynamo Kyiv's first team.

In the 2023 winter transfer window, Tsygankov left Ukraine to join La Liga club Girona. During his time at Girona, he became an important attacking player on the wing, making over 100 official appearances for the club.

At international level, Tsygankov has made 67 appearances for Ukraine, bringing extensive international experience to Ajax.

Ajax technical advisor Jordi Cruyff commented on the signing: "We are very pleased that Viktor has signed with us and officially become part of our team. With his arrival, we have brought in an experienced player who can immediately strengthen our squad. He is also familiar with the way we want to play."

Cruyff also revealed that the club is working to help Tsygankov complete his registration as soon as possible so he can play for the team.

Tsygankov expressed his excitement in his first interview after joining. He previously worked with head coach Míchel Sánchez at Girona and spoke positively about his coaching philosophy.

Tsygankov stated: "He always wants to win and wants the team to control the game. This aligns perfectly with our philosophy and with a club like Ajax."

With his contract officially signed until June 30, 2029, Tsygankov will begin a new chapter in his career. Ajax anticipates that the Ukrainian international will add more creativity and variety to the team's attacking play with his rich experience and skill on the wing.
