According to L'Équipe, while Patrick Vieira has reached an agreement with the Senegalese Football Federation, the official signing has not yet taken place as there are still some details to be resolved between the two parties.

The Senegalese Football Federation announced on August 18 that Vieira had agreed to become head coach of the Senegal national team, and a press conference was planned to formally announce his appointment. However, due to ongoing negotiations over certain contract details, the scheduled event was postponed.
Now, 10 days later, Vieira still has not signed. With the next international break (September 21 to October 6) approaching rapidly, time is pressing as he needs to finalize the national team squad, communicate with players, and assemble his coaching staff.
However, the Senegalese Football Federation is not concerned about the agreement falling through. Both parties are proceeding according to the cooperation plan, with the main outstanding issues being contract terms and coaching staff appointments.
Previously, the Senegalese Football Federation had delayed the appointment process due to the possibility of new federation elections, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected the relevant petition at the end of August, enabling the federation to proceed with Vieira's appointment.
