According to TuttoMercato, European interest did come, but Paredes had already made his decision. Following the 2026 World Cup, the Argentine midfielder received offers from several clubs, with Argentine media confirming that Milan was among them, hoping to bring him back to Italy. However, Paredes did not hesitate: both his present and future lie with Boca Juniors.

The midfielder returned to La Bombonera in 2025 after an extended spell in Europe and winning the World Cup with Argentina. Paredes considered offers from overseas clubs but never seriously entertained leaving: "Many clubs called me. I thank all the teams interested in me, and also the people I worked with. I only spoke with some of them, mainly to express my gratitude. I am very clear about what I want and where I want to be in the future. I am now in a place I love, where I always wanted to be."

Among the interested teams, Milan attempted to persuade him to return to Serie A. Paredes previously played for Roma, Empoli, Chievo, and Juventus, building an important part of his career in Italian football: "Of course, that's significant, but the reason I came back is because I want to stay here. Since I'm at Boca, where else would I go? I'm happy. I just hope the team achieves good results, but I am where I want to be," the Argentine number 5 added.

Paredes' choice is particularly noteworthy: unlike many players who return home at the twilight of their careers, he rejoined Boca while still in his prime. After years competing at the highest level in Europe and playing a crucial role in the World Cup, he ultimately rejected overtures from Milan and other clubs, choosing instead to remain with his beloved Boca.
