Chelsea have signed goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa for a reported £7.5m.

Villa were open to selling Martinez, who joined from Arsenal in 2020 and has been a key part of their success under Unai Emery, after they signed Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.
Robert Sanchez came under criticism for his display in Chelsea's win over Fulham on Monday, and the Blues have now made a move for 33-year-old Martinez.

"I'm delighted to be at this football club," Martinez said.
"Coming to Chelsea, for me and my family, was an easy decision to make and I’m just over the moon – I can't wait to get started.
"I want to be successful here. I'm someone who wants to win at everything I do and I want to bring that here to this football club because it's a football club that wins titles, so I think it's a good match.
"I'm all passion and I play with my heart. I will give 100% every game, every training session to make the club, my team-mates and the supporters proud."
Since he joined Villa in September 2020, Martinez has kept 60 clean sheets in the Premier League, a tally bettered by only four other goalkeepers.
