Di Marzio stated that the deal for El Shaarawy to return to Genoa is entering its final stages. Since El Shaarawy is currently a free agent, Genoa's management is not under the time pressure that typically comes with transfer deadline day.

Because of this, negotiations can proceed without urgency: starting from Wednesday, the deal could be finalized and the contract signed at any moment.
