Leeds United has officially announced the signing of 25-year-old left-back Bard on loan from Ligue 1 side Nice, with an option to buy included in the deal. Bard becomes Leeds United's sixth signing of the summer.

Bard came through Lyon's youth academy. After progressing through Lyon B, he made his first-team debut in 2019 in a 4-0 victory over Nîmes. The following season, the full-back made 18 appearances for Lyon's first team, attracting the attention of Nice. Bard joined Nice in 2021.

In his first season with Nice, Bard made 37 appearances across all competitions and scored 2 goals, helping the club finish 5th in Ligue 1 and reach the French Cup final. These achievements secured Nice's qualification for the Europa Conference League, where Bard made 8 appearances in the group stage and reached the quarterfinals.

In subsequent seasons, Bard established himself as a key regular for Nice, accumulating further European experience with 11 appearances in the Europa League.

At international level, Bard has represented various French youth teams and was selected for the French Olympic team for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, making 2 appearances during the tournament.
