Former Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria has turned to LinkedIn in a bid to find a new club after becoming a free agent this summer.

Ejaria, 28, broke through the academy ranks at Liverpool before making his senior debut in 2016, replacing Roberto Firmino as the Reds beat Derby County 3-0 in the Carabao Cup, just weeks before his 19th birthday.

During his four-year spell at Anfield, which included stints on loan at Sunderland, Rangers and Reading, the youngster chalked up eight senior appearances before ultimately departing the club to join the Royals permanently in 2020.

His time at Reading came to an end four years later, before he joined Real Oviedo after the Spanish club's promotion to LaLiga last year.

Oviedo were relegated to Spain's second tier at the end of last season, when Ejaria's contract also expired, leaving the midfielder searching for a new club once again.

Ejaria took to social media platform LinkedIn in the hope of finding a new club on Tuesday, sharing footage of him playing for Real Oviedo against Atletico Madrid last season.

'I'm currently a free agent and looking for the right opportunity,' he posted.

'Was playing for Real Oviedo in LaLiga last season. Primary Position- Central Midfield (6, 8 & 10). Secondary position - Left winger. 28 years old, London-based. Played for Liverpool, Sunderland, Rangers, Reading & Real Oviedo

Ejaria, who joined Liverpool's academy from Arsenal in 2014, made an excellent impression on former Reds boss Jurgen Klopp after joining the senior team.

The German singled out Ejaria as a model example of how youth academy stars should conduct themselves when they team up with the senior squad.

He said, 'I told the boys before the session that last year, Ovie Ejaria came onto my plate, if you want.

'I saw him here first. I knew him, I saw him playing a few times, but here having him around for four days and seeing him in small spaces in the sessions against the "adults", if you want, was very important for him and for me.

'It's an opportunity. You can see in their eyes they know it - they are really ambitious when they think about the sessions and we will try to do everything we can to give them the opportunity to impress.

'There's no doubt about the attitude, there's no doubt about quality – it's only a question of are they already ready or not? If not, then they still have time. If yes, then let's make the next step.'

Ejaria made eight appearances for Real Oviedo last term as the Spanish side finished rock bottom of LaLiga on 29 points, winning just six matches in total.
