According to the Daily Mail, Araujo hopes to continue at Liverpool after his loan spell concludes.

Araujo's situation at Barcelona has shifted significantly. The Uruguayan defender was once a cornerstone of the club's defense and even captained the team at one point, but protracted contract negotiations, transfer speculation, and a dip in form affected his standing. Late last year, he requested time away from the squad to recuperate before returning.
Araujo now believes that leaving Barcelona for a fresh start is the right decision. He said after the match: "Leaving Barcelona is very good for me. I have great affection for the club and will always be grateful for everything they have given me. I am very happy, and I believe we maintain a good relationship. I owe Barcelona a great deal for making me the player I am today."
Barcelona's sporting director Deco also did not rule out the possibility of Araujo returning in the future. He said: "I watched Liverpool's match yesterday and really enjoyed it. I personally admire Araujo greatly. Sometimes he is not at his best, but his Barcelona career has been very impressive."
Deco also noted that Araujo's contract with Barcelona extends until 2031, so it is premature to discuss his long-term future. Whether Araujo can secure a permanent move to Liverpool after this season remains uncertain.
