De Zerbi: Richarlison Won't Be Called Up Despite Being Eligible

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou De Zerbi confirmed at Monday's pre-match press conference that Kulusevski, Porro, and Tonali will all be unavailable for the League Cup third round tie against Liverpool due to injury, and explicitly stated that Richarlison will not be called up despite meeting the eligibility requirements to play.

De Zerbi will hold a press conference on Monday afternoon (local time) to discuss Tottenham's away League Cup match at Liverpool. Tottenham's recent goal drought in the Premier League has been a concern, but the team will temporarily shift focus from league football for this challenging fixture at Anfield.

Both teams are expected to make significant changes to their starting lineups following frustrating 0-0 draws on Saturday—Tottenham drew with Everton, while Liverpool drew goalless with Fulham.

De Zerbi will provide an update on the latest injury status of Porro and Udojie, both absent from last weekend's match. He will also clarify whether Maddison is fit enough to start this cup tie—if he plays, it will be his first competitive appearance in a domestic competition since being substituted in the first half at Anfield in April.

Tottenham's manager will also be asked about Richarlison's situation. Football.london reported over the weekend that, although regulations appear to stipulate that players must come from the Premier League squad, it is understood that Tottenham has confirmed with the EFL that Richarlison is eligible to play in the League Cup if De Zerbi wishes to use the Brazilian striker.

De Zerbi: "Solanke is a good player. He needs to improve his fitness and stay positive, because he can score many goals for us. Marmoush and Savio were not key players before, but it's different here."
