According to Kicker, Ibrahim Mazza missed Bayer Leverkusen's final training session before the match due to an infection, and it remains uncertain whether he will be available for the Europa League opener.

NK Celje is expected to adopt a defensive approach, and Mazza was originally set to play a key role as a game-changer for Bayer Leverkusen. The in-form 20-year-old earned a Kicker rating of 2.17 across three matches but missed the team's final training session on Tuesday.

Mazza is currently suffering from an infection but could still feature if his physical condition improves significantly before the match. To avoid infecting his teammates, he is currently not participating in team training.

Should the Algerian international be unavailable, Afonso Moreira could play on the left wing, Malik Tillman as the number 10, and Diaby on the right wing.
