Manchester City are tracking Portugal Under-21 international Stephen Eustaquio.

The Etihad Stadium club are one of a number of clubs - including Barcelona, Real Betis and Sporting Lisbon - who are interested in the GD Chaves youngster.

His release clause is understood to be £13.3million. Sporting Lisbon are believed to have already made a opening offer.

The 21-year-old midfielder has impressed since joining GD Chaves earlier this year, his displays earning him rave reviews.

Eustaquio was born in Canada to Portuguese parents and has represented his country of birth at junior level.

But having played seven times for Portugal Under 21s, Eustaquio is being tipped for senior honours.

Eustaquio has been compared to City playmaker David Silva - but in a recent interview he spoke of his admiration for Barca midfielder Sergio Busquets.

'I think there is no smarter player in the field than Sergio Busquets, so I look at him when I occupy the position of No 6, half defensive,' he said.
