After reports Shenzhen FC were close to meeting Milan’s €10m asking price for Fabio Borini, it’s now claimed the Chinese club has abandoned talks.

There had been suggestions in La Gazzetta dello Sport that the offer was €8.5m and the Rossoneri were holding out for a little more.

However, this evening SpazioMilan report that Shenzhen FC have pulled out of negotiations and no longer have any interest in signing the forward.

In fact, the Shenzhen Evening Post maintains Milan received an email from the Chinese club asking where the rumours had come from, as they never particularly wanted Borini.

The 27-year-old arrived from Sunderland in the summer of 2017 for a total €6m.

So far this season, Borini has contributed one goal and one assist in 12 competitive games for Milan.
