Renowned journalist Romano announced that Middlesbrough has agreed to sign defender Ashley Phillips from Tottenham Hotspur. Details are still being finalized, and the medical examination has not yet been completed. The transfer fee is reportedly £7 million plus add-ons.

Ashley Phillips spent the last two seasons on loan at Stoke City from Tottenham Hotspur, making 83 appearances for the club, and has not made any first-team appearances for Tottenham Hotspur.
