Cruzeiro announced that they would sue Ruan Gabriel's agent, Leao Morais, stating that the accusations made were baseless, according to Globo Esporte.

Cruzeiro stated that agent Leao Morais and content producer Cláudio Silva recently spread baseless accusations through public statements, presenting information related to the club and its staff in a fragmented and out-of-context manner.

Cruzeiro claimed that these statements were inconsistent with the facts, drew incorrect conclusions about the club's internal practices and guidelines, and damaged the reputation of the club and its staff.

The club announced that it has retained relevant materials and will take appropriate legal action, including criminal measures, to investigate the related acts and hold all those involved in the improper dissemination of information and the spreading of false or offensive accusations accountable.

Cruzeiro reiterated that the club will carry out its work with integrity, honesty, and responsibility, and will not remain idle against those who attempt to unjustly damage the image and reputation of the club and its staff.

Ruan Gabriel is a standout player from Cruzeiro's youth academy. His agent recently publicly criticized the club on social media and demanded the player's release to join Palmeiras. Ruan Gabriel has made 27 appearances for Cruzeiro's U20 team this season, scoring 23 goals and providing 5 assists.

According to Leao Morais, he represents the number 10 player, and Palmeiras will sign Ruan Gabriel on loan. The estimated value of 70% of the player's ownership is 5 million euros (30 million reais). This way, Cruzeiro would retain a percentage when selling the player in the future. Sources within Palmeiras contacted by Globo Esporte denied that the club had submitted an offer for Ruan Gabriel.

Leao Morais said: "Let's put aside the resentment and arrogance, because everyone has these issues. Since you don't want him to play, let him go to Palmeiras. Abel will use him. If he becomes a starter at Cruzeiro, you will never sell him for the same price as Palmeiras. Let him go. You can still keep 30%. Abel will use him, the Palmeiras jersey carries a lot of weight, and he can eventually be sold for 50 million, and you will still get 30%. Even if he plays for you, he won't be sold for that price. So we need to be smart. Please let him leave."

Leao Morais continued to express his dissatisfaction, stating that Cruzeiro would not sell players developed from their youth academy, and also mentioned that there seemed to be some kind of "arrangement" within the club that allowed certain players to get playing time. He said: "If he is sold for 50 million euros, 15 million euros will be received, plus the 5 million (buyout fee). This is much better than keeping him there, not letting him play, and getting involved in all those messy arrangements."

Leao Morais also said: "Look at Kaauan Prates again, he couldn't leave for more than 8 million euros, and there were many clauses attached. It's difficult to sell for a high price like that. If he went to a team with a strong brand like Flamengo or Palmeiras, played regularly, and then was sold, Cruzeiro would earn more than by keeping him here. It should have been the same, because Cruzeiro is also a big club, but they won't take advantage of that."

Ruan Gabriel has stood out at Cruzeiro since the U15 level and also represented Brazil in the U20 World Cup last year. The two parties renewed his contract in September 2024, valid until the end of 2028.
