Tottenham Hotspur defender Porro is expected to be out for about a month due to a hamstring injury, according to The Athletic.

The 27-year-old has withdrawn from the Spanish squad for the current international break and is likely to miss Roberto De Zerbi's side's next match – an away game against Manchester United on October 10 (CEST) – and possibly the home match nine days later against Coventry on October 19 (CEST).

There are reasons to be confident that Porro will be fit for the away game against Chelsea on October 24 (CEST).

Porro did not feature in either of the matches against Everton or Liverpool earlier this month. He fell to the ground in the 17th minute of Tottenham Hotspur's home game against Aston Villa last Saturday and was subsequently replaced by Archie Gray.

He had previously been called up to Luis de la Fuente's Spain squad for the international break but withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Sporting CP full-back Fresneda.

Porro missed Tottenham Hotspur's opening league game against Brentford last month after being granted an extended summer break following Spain's World Cup triumph.

During Porro's absence, Archie Gray has filled in at right-back. Spence left the club this summer for Inter Milan.

Since joining from Sporting CP in January 2023, Porro has been a key figure and a regular starting right-back for the team. Last season, he missed only four Premier League matches due to injury and played a crucial role in Tottenham's campaign, as well as being an important part of Spain's World Cup-winning squad.
