According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea winger Gittens will return to the club for assessment after suffering an ankle injury while playing for England U21.

Gittens started for England U21 in their UEFA European U21 Championship 2027 qualifier against Kazakhstan on Friday evening.
England ultimately secured a 4-2 comeback victory, but Gittens suffered the injury in the first half and was replaced by his former Chelsea teammate Tyrique George six minutes before the end of the first half.
England U21 manager Lee Carsley confirmed after the match that Gittens would return to Chelsea for an ankle assessment. Videos circulating on social media showed Gittens walking on crutches up the steps at Molineux Stadium.
Carsley stated: "Gittens took a knock to his ankle. We're not going to take any risks. With players of this age, we won't keep them in camp to monitor. He'll go back."
Gittens is the second Chelsea player to suffer an injury during this international break. Goalkeeper Penders sustained a thigh injury in training and missed Belgium's 2-0 victory over Italy in the UEFA Nations League in Rome on Friday evening.
Chelsea player Palmer previously withdrew from the England squad and did not participate in the UEFA Nations League matches against Spain, Czech Republic, and Croatia.
