Barcelona previously filed a defamation lawsuit in response to statements made by Florentino at a press conference. Now both Florentino and Barcelona have been summoned to a mediation hearing scheduled for 9:40 AM local time on November 25 in Courtroom 1/2 of the Madrid court.

Barcelona is demanding that Real Madrid withdraw its statements and that Florentino retract his remarks. The outcome of this hearing will determine the next phase of the conflict: if Florentino is absent or attends but refuses to withdraw his statements, Barcelona has announced it will file criminal charges, which would escalate the standoff between the two clubs.

According to Cadena COPE and confirmed by Marca, the hearing will take place on November 25. Florentino's comments have sparked ongoing anger at Barcelona, who view them as an insult to the club and team, intended to destabilize them.

Florentino said at the time, "The corruption in the Negreira case is systemic and the biggest scandal in history. Yet we have to listen to the president of the Spanish Football Federation say we must forget about these things... But how can we forget?"

"We are preparing a 500-page dossier to submit to UEFA... I have already spoken with them. There has never been such a precedent in the history of world football. How can we forget the biggest corruption case in history?"

"Let's see if we truly take this seriously and whether UEFA finally intervenes, which they certainly will, because they cannot allow the most important football competition—European football—to be under suspicion of corruption for over 20 years."
