According to Calcio e Finanza, Roma CEO Dan Friedkin discussed the club's future development strategy at the Trento Sports Festival. He stated that Roma aims to build a more sustainable operating model, reduce reliance on capital gains from player transfers, and simultaneously develop more players capable of reaching the first team through its youth academy system.

Friedkin said: "You cannot live off capital gains alone. It's not enough, because sooner or later you will make mistakes in the transfer market."
Therefore, Roma plans to further strengthen its youth academy system. Friedkin commented: "We must develop more talent, and we need more players like Zalewski and Cristante."
Roma's current development plan primarily involves three directions. First is reforming the youth academy system. Friedkin stated that Roma's youth academy "has been one of Italy's best for many years."
The second direction is addressing the transition of youth team players to the first team. Roma believes that moving directly from the youth team to the first team is one of the most difficult stages in a young player's development, which is why the club hopes to form a U23 team.
Friedkin said: "Between the youth team and the first team, an additional development stage is needed. Therefore, we need a U23 team."
The third direction is to strengthen synergistic cooperation with OGC Nice, a club also owned by the Friedkin family. Friedkin believes that France is one of the richest markets for young football talent in the world.
Roma hopes that these measures will establish "a very solid development path," allowing the club to bring its own youth-developed players into the first team every year, while also increasing the value of other young players through the transfer market, and reinvesting the funds obtained to create a "sustainable development model."
In addition to the youth academy, a new stadium is also considered by Roma to be an important project for increasing the club's revenue and competitive strength in the future. Friedkin stated: "In four years, the new stadium will change everything, because it will increase our operating revenue and allow us to make a leap forward economically and competitively."
He said that the new stadium will be specifically designed around football matches and the needs of fans: "The Stadio Olimpico holds many memories, but it was not designed for football, whereas our new stadium will be."
The current design also includes creating a more compact South Stand that reduces the feeling of dispersed space. Friedkin stated that the club hopes to hold the groundbreaking ceremony for the new stadium between March and April next year.
The entire new stadium project is expected to require an investment of approximately 1.3 billion euros. Friedkin believes this huge investment also demonstrates the Friedkin family's long-term commitment to Roma.
He said: "We must respect their character and their emphasis on privacy, but the family is very committed before, during, and after matches. Moreover, if you don't truly believe in the project, you wouldn't make such an investment."
When asked about the transfer market and whether a left-winger would be signed, Friedkin replied: "We are always attentive to see if suitable opportunities arise in the market. We hope to continue growing this team."
