Julia Zigiotti Olme was the matchwinner for Manchester United in their 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the Women's Super League.

The Swedish midfielder scored the only goal at Progress with Unity Stadium in the sixth minute, with Liverpool unable to beat Phallon Tullis-Joyce at the other end after an inspired performance from the United goalkeeper.
United's opener came after a blunder at the back from Khiara Keating. The Liverpool shot-stopper passed the ball straight to Zigiotti Olme, who composed herself with a few touches before lifting over a backtracking Keating.
Liverpool responded well to that mistake with Cornelia Kapocs and Beata Olsson denied by a brilliant double save from Tullis-Joyce, while Jess Park saw a deflected effort hit the crossbar for United before the break.
Marie-Therese Hobinger saw a well-struck shot from distance saved by the Red Devils' goalkeeper, before Jenna Clark failed to direct Natalia Ramos' corner on target.
United squandered a golden opportunity to double their lead as Elisabeth Terland's curler was pushed away by Keating, but it mattered little as Eva Olid's side held on for all three points.

Olid's United hit their stride
After failing to win any of their first three WSL games (D1 L2), which included a 5-0 defeat to Chelsea, there was some early pressure mounting on Olid's United, but they have responded in impressive fashion.
A 10-1 win over Sheffield United in the League Cup was followed by a 2-1 victory over West Ham in the WSL, with United now winning back-to-back games in the league and four in a row across all competitions.
Their performance against Liverpool, however, was far from perfect. The visitors won the expected goals (xG) battle by 1.36 to 0.58 and recorded almost as many shots on target (eight) as United had attempts overall (nine).
Nevertheless, Tullis-Joyce's eight saves proved crucial as the Red Devils kept a clean sheet in a WSL home game for the first time since September 2025, ending an 11-game run of conceding in such games.
