According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay will undergo a medical examination on Tuesday, October 6, to obtain clearance to resume full training and competitive play. The Scottish midfielder previously underwent an ablation procedure to treat a minor benign arrhythmia and is gradually regaining his fitness. Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri is hopeful that McTominay will be available for the match against Frosinone on October 10.

McTominay has not featured since Napoli's match against Como on August 30. On September 8, he underwent an ablation procedure in Manchester to address a minor benign arrhythmia. After completing the initial phase of his recovery in England, McTominay has spent the past 20 days training individually at Napoli's Castel Volturno training ground to rebuild his fitness while awaiting medical clearance to return to competitive action.
The examination on October 6 will be a crucial milestone in McTominay's recovery. If he receives clearance, he is expected to rejoin team training. Allegri hopes to have him available for the squad's first match following the international break, which is Napoli's home fixture against Frosinone on Saturday, October 10 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
